MORRISON DATA SERVICES acquires METER-U to create largest UTILITY data collection provider in uk & ireland

Morrison Data Services, a leading UK data collection, data management and meter maintenance service provider to UK energy suppliers, today announced the completion of the acquisition of Meter-U, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the EnServe Group.

Predominantly offering services to water utilities, Meter-U’s services include meter reading and data collection services for domestic and non-domestic premises. Other services include meter data management, leakage reporting, client revenue protection and meter replacement activities. With a field force of over 400 personnel, the company manages the data from four million meters, collecting over 17 million meter reads per annum throughout the UK and Ireland.

The Field Supervisor will support the Contract Manager in leading, motivating and developing field based teams around the Anglian Water region to ensure the teams provide an excellent level of customer service. The focus of the role is on planning, coaching, prioritising and leading the team to achieve the standards set for multiple customers around the region, whilst ensuring all operational and performance targets are met and maintained.

As a Dual Fuel Meter Engineer, your main responsibilities will be:

  • Installing and exchanging gas and electric meters in a variety of premises issued via tablets.
  • Completing prescribed testing in line with industry standards and codes of practice.
  • Collecting and depositing electric and gas meters from the designated storage facility.
  • Completing all relevant associated administrative work.
  • Assisting locksmith and a debt representative to ensure safe completion of warrant jobs.
  • Other duties may be undertaken as and when required, in particular when new business is gained.
  • Achieving and exceeding work performance targets and adhere to health and safety procedures, industry standards and codes of practice.

To be a successful Dual Fuel Meter Engineer you will have the following skills and experience:

  • Gas Safe – CCN1 / MET1 or CMA1 / MET1; MOCOPA – at least 1phWC.
  • Track record of accurately and safely installing gas and electric meters.
  • Possession of a current LVCO authorisation for the DNO network.
  • REGT1 qualification; Qualified and experienced installing Single ph, 3ph & CT meters.
