We are proud to have been recognised for our innovation to support environmental sustainability, through the award of Green Apple Commendation.
The Green Apple Environment Awards recognise, reward and promote environmental best practice around the world.
Working with our other M Group Services’ Divisions, we have introduced solutions to improve the efficiency of meter reading activities and drastically reduce the carbon footprint of our operations.
Our innovative One Data Collection initiative combines the meter reading of energy and water. This has increased meter density, allowing more readings in a shorter time, promoting 20% people efficiency and around 40 vans removed from the service.
Project Levi, which uses AI to optimise routes, has also been introduced to plan and schedule our meter readers’ journeys, allowing more meters to be read a day.
The recognition of these technologies with a Green Apple Commendation Award highlights the significant environmental benefits they bring. The introduction of both solutions had led to the removal of 140 business vehicles, alongside a reduction of 622,037 road miles driven by our people a year.
This means an averaged reduction of 255,657 kg in co2e, or 69,000 litres of fuel per year.
